Input please!
« on: February 23, 2008, 11:37:45 AM »
So guys what do you think? Its very early days yet and there is a lot to do. What do you think of the board choices? I've tried to keep them minimal as having 50 different boards with only 4 members will look silly.
I've looked at alternative themes, I like the idea of users being able to choose there prefered theme although so far I havn't been able to change mine apart from the 2 default themes.

Looks very nice ! It will take a bit of time to get people aware of this board. I think that it will be very good. I talk with many people who want a place dedicated to Largescale vehicles. Along with that, many who want info on MCD vehicles. Having a dedicated forum for MCD is awesome. There will be professional level information, with opinions from the entire world. Don't get much better than that.  Great Job !!

What do you think of this theme? Obviously we need a proper header (Mono can you help with that?) A bit different to the standard Vbulletin look that every forum seems to have these days.

Yep already convinced the misses to create a couple of banners which she will do in the next week or so. So if any of you have some nice pictures of your rides( I mean MCD's not gf's or wives!) please PM me.

...Ok you can send me pics for yr gf's or wives but only if there cute  :D

On a more serious note, do you think it be a good idea to have a dedicated racing section on clubs, results etc. for these vehicles or should we just include that type of info under the general RR section?

Ah just read this after pm'ing you. I have a cd of pics from MCD I will copy it and send it to ya and I can email the MCD logo. I can add whatever boards we want but I'm thinking maybe best to get everything else setup so we can go live and then add boards once traffic increases, but yes a racing section will deffo be required as these are race cars ;D

Awesome initiative with this board. I know im gonna frequent here. Might i suggest a tunning part in the forum, as I understand that these 4x4 cars demand a bit differently ported engines and setup. Would be nice to see what fellow MCD-riders use and can recomend.

Welcome aboard, very early days for us so things are constanly changing as we fine tune the setup.
So you would like an 'Engines' section?

Thanks  ;D

I guess an Engines section would do just aswell, but i think tunning, or whatever the right name would be, is a bit more broadend about every aspect of the performance of the car, like what shock-oil/springs to use, gear-ratio, ride-height, wheels and ofcourse the difference in engines. As I understand theres allmost as many engine setups as there are MCD-drivers out there. But im just a noob here who got my first LS about a month ago, so its just a suggestion.

And im not wery good with technical terms in english, so please beare with me :-)

I agree with Lathly. A tuning section would be useful to see how everyone is setting up there cars. For example I was experimenting with different shock positions on the track yesterday and found that using the first hole in the rear lower arm (increasing the travel) made a significant difference to the cars handling (rear end stays put now) Mind you the track was in extremely bad shape after Sundays racing.

But would we put this info in the yet to be created Racing header or as a dedicated header by itself. What do you all think?

Hello friends...

I will ask the UK importer if they can provide details of the set-up being used by the team drivers.

Although to be honest with the exception of the installing a few washers under the track rods and changing the rear hub mounting so that they lean back not forward, the cars are being in raced in near stock/standard form.

What is your policy on linking to other sites? For example the UK importer's website has some useful hints and tips...

No problem linking to MCD dealers. We not strict on links and stuff its all fairly relaxed around here, just no talk of any unauthorised reproductions of MCD's work

Finally MCD forum. I hope that more and more MCD owners will come. Hope to see more MCD dealers. And the best thing would be that Sinan or someone from MCD company joins here so he can read what users want. Admins send him email ;)

Yep, just spread the word everywhere you can. I'm not sure how to improve our google rating when people search for 'MCD'. I'm sure it comes up somewhere around 20,000 or so!

Site looks really good, great job on creating the forum.  Tuning section would be really good.  I have had my MCD for over a year now and initially had some engine set up problems.  Lessons learned so hopefully the forum can be used to share these experiences.

I like the site, but couple things I think would make it better.
Make it compulsory to put in your location, makes it handy to know where someone is when talking to them!...

Also a introduction / about yourself thing. I was looking to see where or if you sell MCD Cars and parts and if you're in Australia OzMCD, but can't find any info!...

Cheers

Hi my names Doug and im an addict.....lol

Seriously though one of the best places I have found for parts with prices that are not over the top is PowerSlideRacing here in Aus.  Although fairly limited in spares initially the list is growing by the day and I believe a recent shipment has landed with a lot of goodies including the new limited slip diff's (which I just ordered)

We will be looking to have MCD dealers advertising on here in the future, in the meantime I'll start a 'where to buy' thread. As for intros may just start with a 'intros' thread rather than a subforum for now.
