Here are some pictures and details of the new quick release system
This set up is in a X-4 rally
Three HITEC servos
HS-7950 TH on the steering
HS-7954 TH in the brake
We have also made the servo clamps
-
This is for V-4 QR with open differential
-
Here is the out tray
-
Weight difference between the regular system and the new QR
As you can see is 10% lighter and stronger by the new steering plate
-
Weight differences between large servos
standard servos with adapter and mounted direct on the new tray
-
Here the steering plate separately for which want to convert the regular system to QR

Dave, So long as you have the plastic enclosed centre diff housing... then yes it will.

Awesome stuff Joe. Will be considering a change from the current Jofer tray to one of the quick release trays for small servos when I change everything over to 7.4v gear.

Dave
Franco is right

I have been communicating with Joe about getting the servo tray re-designed, and the pictures on the JoferUSA website have not been updated.... just today i received my order from Joe, here are some pictures of the modified trays...

The main key changes that i requested, other then the Quick Release feature, with these is...
1/ the elongated steering servo wire cut-outs... on the previous version you had to thread the servo lead through the other sections of the tray because the cut-out was not long enough. I have been ranting about this on here for some time, and if you have ever had a servo fail on you at the track you will understand what i am talking about.
2/ The decorative cut-outs have been re-positioned to allow you to better cable tie the servo leads to the tray, rather then stuffing them in the battery box... i have always found it a pain to have to stuff everything back into the box at the track, so i tend to think that this will make thing so much better.
3/ I also requested that a threaded hole be added to allow for the standard mcd filter... yes i still use them and i think that they are the best thing since the introduction of sliced bread.
Personally i see these changes as the Racers Choice, and i'm very thankful for Joe listening as well as putting up with me ;)
I will be fitting these to my RRV4 this week and will update my build thread soon, for now here are a few close up pictures...
