Well guys Joe has done it again !!!!! after various discussions ,he kindly sent me a set of
prototype lower servo saver /steering cone parts . I fitted them this afternoon to my FT
build ,superb ,whilst at it fitted the 7075 steering bar and some new service bits , the pictures
tell the story ,simple light ,clean job !!! . Did a quick test run ,superb !!! with the new CVD
steering angle etc ... It's as good as it gets steering wise on a 4wd .

Awsome job. But the kcr stifners will do for now
Sent from my iPhone 4S using Tapatalk
-
Yes the KCR stiffners have been excellent , but this hop up is far simpler for those who want
to firm up the steering from now on or just like the design and neatness .
Good Job Joe :D :D
-
Been waiting for these for so long... fantastic work Joe, will be keen to get a set ASAP.
-
Nice work. I bought myself some steering stiffeners so will see how they go to start with. Probably get some of these as well when they hit the shelves though :-[
-
Nice part, as always will be a high quality part.
-
Just spoken to Joe ,the parts will be available in 2-3 weeks ,next week they are on Hols till the 5th of june ,
then they start production , Other colours available to match your servo trays , and Retail price
will be around $69 for the pair 8) 8) 8)
One other big plus with this is the M3 connection on top only needs a M3 16-20mm cap head
and fixes into solid alloy ,not those stupid Inserts ,always filling with muck, and coming loose ,
I will order some more for my other MCD's . ;) ;) ;)
-
Just had a thought ,the old stiffners can be fitted with light wires ,and that solves what to get
HerIndoors for her birthday EARINGS
-
Thanks guys. 8)
As they say the kcr is doing the work also, smart idea, simple and economical solution
The Jofer is a different option for those who want something more simple without adding compenentes and that match with the rest of our parts servo tray ect.
But both do the job.
I add Some pictures, and also the new servo tray system, BeatsMe asked for this and is completed now
Is lighter and stiffer than the original, easier to remove the electronics from the car.
The complete set will cost 24 dollars more than the original.
The original is still available for those who do not want spend the additional 24 dollars and do not care need remove more screws
Will also be available the steering plate along to convert the original system to the new one as a upgrade.

more pics
-
Fantastic news Joe, sorry to have hassled you about these for so long 8) 8)
-
I will probably upgrade my shopping V4, trays ,easier for a Quick Clean :D :D
-
No problem Franco
I let you know when the servo tray (BeatsMe edition) are ready
:D

-
Joe , Phoned me Today ,slight delay ,but being sorted now ,pictures of anodised production
servo saver parts later this week ,price now finalised at a lower $ 64.95 a set US about £41 uk ,
and 51 Euro ,and 64 AUD . First batch selling well to pre dealer orders .
Available in the usual colours :D :D :D
-
Ok thanks for the info Mike so just to clarify a set is two pieces for the left and right sides, of the lower piece only. For the upper piece you still need to use the plastic bit right.
-
Yes Franco
you're right

-
Very nice work Joe. Just one question is that a stainless steel bolt you're providing with these ??
-
Yes Franco bottom 5mm x 16 ss
And the top ones 3 mmx 20 mm black
-
Looking Excellent Joe ,looking forward to updating my other MCD's .
Franco , the two parts are an excellent fit before the M5 bolt goes in , In affect it's only
holding the cone part down ,the prototype has had no Issues at all ,simple ,smart and
very strong ,another Classic Jofer Upgrade :D :D :D
-
Mike, yes the product is very good, but the SS bolts i would not recommend. I have been testing those SS bolts from when i started this post...
www.mcdracingforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=3015.msg26680#msg26680 (http://www.mcdracingforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=3015.msg26680#msg26680)
And as advised in that thread i have had no joy with them and will be replacing them all. So would be best if Joe does not use them.
-
As I said in this application ,a very minor Issue , As you know I replace most bolts with Elcon
torx at some stage , I didn't in this case ,may do later ,see how many I have in stock   .
Don't forget you have to look at costings to Retail /Availabuility etc ,not like us pull 2 out of
our tool box    8)
-
Franco is like mike says
The two pieces fit very tight( precession fit) , if you want to remove by hand, after removing the screw, You could not take a part
The screw is just to lower the post in the pocket and hold together
And your not really suppose to never remove it
But if you want to exchange it for another of your choice is fine is not thread-locker when we assemble
We do not believe that is a big deal in this type of application
-
Mike, In this application, it is far from a very minor Issue, you know very well what happens to the Ackerman Bar when the steering takes a good hard hit... no way that a SS bolt, even an M5, will handle the pounding that it will get.
Joe, It was just a recommendation to you. I just don't understand how you make a quality product and then add a SS bolt :( :( As Mike said he replaces mostly all bolts with Elcon Torx, ie minimum HT 10.9... SS is less than a quarter of that strength.

Ok wise guy :P :P run your car without the bolts fitted and see how long the servo saver stays together :) :)
-
Franco
As I said before, the reason is for this application, I not think is big deal
Of course you can use titanium screws but the price goes up, and the more you add more price goes up
These parts we took 5 Dollars off , with those savings can you add the screw you want
8) 8)
PD. we send you the servo tray pics you request tonight
-
Got to Agree Joe , I checked Today and I had threadlocked the stainless ones in ,even though
I have 8.8/10.9 Elcon Torx in Stock  .
So I will fit some to the next batch in case Health and Safety come after me    .
