RCMK 30,5cc gizmo motors pro mod
« on: November 19, 2012, 12:08:40 AM »
Hello guys.
I bought this engine from gizmo motors, and first i thought i put it to my baja, but then i thought that 4wd needs more torque than 2wd car.
I have bought second hand mcd rrv4 competition.
Having it next month, maybe in the first week i hope.
But back to the engine, so this engine was so called long block, so i needed to buy few bits and peaces to it.
So this is what it looks like, and no, i am not going to competition this car, just for fun and racing it against my brother, hi has also mcd rrv4..
Obr clutch housing, need to be mod to fit in mcd..

bzm velocity stack.

Turtle v2 pull start, amazing product, deffo can recomended this to all gas engine users..

I had it in baja, but put it to the mcd and this engine.
Also have that billet alloy fan cover.

DT-1 air filter and tgn outerwear prefilter, need to order orange to this engine, that green dose not fit to the theme
Dont know why i bought that color, since tgn had all the other colors in stock when i bought that..
Pipe what i am going to use is latest samba four power ultimate pipe, should work great with this engine.
This engine makes about 7 7.5hp, as gizmo told me..
Stock version makes out allmost 6hp.

I bought the zen case, rcmk head combo that gizmo sells before my obr. I liked it but thought it could have had more torque to be honest. This combo might work best with the full rcmk combo. On a side note I like gizmo's modified flywheel. I am using it on a stock zen and I think it makes a difference over the stock one.
I like the orange theme as well. Good luck with it.

I think this 30,5cc should have good torque, but letīs see how it works with samba pipe.
I was also thinking vrc pro pipe, but read that it would have not good low end, so i did desided to buy samba.
Sure hope that this would work well in 4wd car, few more weeks to wait until i got that car and can test that..

The torque range is limited to between 10K and 14K in std form ,for four wheel drive
you need a flat torque line more like from 6K to 15-16 K RPM to give holding power,
and the head design limits the tuning options for torque ,Impressive out of the box
figures though .

Yes in deed..
Im not sure what kind method gizmo is tuned this engine, more top end or what..
I like more grunt on low reps too, im not dune basher..
That rcmk is very powerfull out of the box too, my engine is dynod in Bruce dyno at gizmo and it should make 7.5hp.
Really would like to test it, but needs to wait that car still long 3-weeks :D

Engine has now find its home finally...

obr/tr clutch housing fits like a glove with out any modificatios.

Engine i needed to do small dremeling.

Exhaust port is so freaking big in this rcmk gizmo model, that i did not could do it as big it is, but did my best.

Pipe is samba four power ultimate lates version.
Might need to do some kind heat protect for the tr v2 pull start, exhaust is so close to it.

Interesting to see your pictures of the exhaust port, i was told that it was the same as the regular engines... clearly it's not, the mounting might be close but the port itself is way off.

Very nice anyway, and thanks for sharing.

I did modded my engine a bit.
Changed stock piston to it, squish is also now 0,48mm, it was almost 0,7mm when it came to me and use walbro wt-771 now, seem to be working better with that model and i also modified copper gasket on the exhaust, and i did use some dremel on that..
Tires are spike tires, so there is grip on it..
